These non-carboxylated cannabinoids are converted to CBD after proper heating, yet research on the efficacy and safety of these precursors is significantly limited. This is not an isolated stud, many other studies have developed similar conclusions about questionable CBD content of many products on the market. Since 2015, the FDA has issued an annual warning letter about CBD drugs on the market that do not contain the levels of CBD they claimed (2015/2016 warning letters and test results for cannabidiol-related products). CBD therefore may be an effective therapy for SAD, if CBD truly does have the assumed anxiolytic properties confirmed in animal trials and the few clinical trials.
